SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Marist women's soccer team begins its 2024 campaign with a road contest against Seton Hall on Friday, August 16. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. from Owen T. Carroll Field.
 

2024 SEASON PREVIEW

• The Red Foxes were picked 10th of 13 teams in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
• Marist returns 15 members from last season's team, including captains Olivia Lindsay, Bella Lazaaro, and Maddy Catalanotti
• Marist is set to take on five non-conference opponents. Their home opener will be against Bryant on Sunday, August 25
• The non-conference matchups will finish on Sunday, September 1, at home against Navy
• The Red Foxes will open conference play at home against Saint Peter's on Saturday, September 7 

SCOUTING THE PIRATES

• Seton Hall opens its season picked eighth in the BIG EAST Coaches' Poll
• Senior forward Natalie Tavana was picked to be the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and was selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team
• Last season Tavana scored 12 goals and tallied 26 points. She finished with the most goals in the BIG EAST, and her goal and point totals were the most at The Hall since Kelly Smith's senior season in 1999

HISTORY VS SETON HALL

• Friday's contest will mark the seventh contest between the two programs
• Seton Hall holds a record of 4-1-1 against Marist
• The last time the two squads faced off, they tied at 1-1 on Sept. 3, 2023 in Poughkeepsie
• Grace Hotaling scored an unassisted goal in the 86th minute to knot the contest at 1-1, forcing the eventual tie

NEXT TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes will be back in action on Thursday, Aug. 22, when Marist travels to Newark, NJ for a date with NJIT.
• The contest is set for a 4 p.m. start
