Catalanotti Posts Shutout in Scoreless Tie at NJIT

Red Foxes Draw Against Highlanders

NEWARK, New Jersey – Despite generating a few chances late on offense, Marist women's soccer tied with NJIT, 0-0, on the road Thursday evening on Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

Junior captain goalkeeper Maddy Catalanotti tallied two saves en route to her first shutout of the season.

With the tie, Marist moved to 0-1-1 in the early campaign, while NJIT moved to 0-1-1 to begin its season.

Quote From Coach

NJIT was a great test for us and compares very well to the top of our conference in every way. With that said, I was very pleased with some of our possession into the final third to create chances and opportunities, including producing seven corner kicks. We talk every day about being the best version of ourselves at whatever our role may be on gameday and I thought we owned up to that which I was very proud of. This team has a lot going for them in regard to their belief and buy-in to our culture, which excites me for the games ahead. We continue to work towards preparing for the MAAC! - Nicole Pacapelli
