NORFOLK, Virginia - The Marist volleyball team is set to compete in the Quest for the Crown Tournament, hosted by Old Dominion. The Red Foxes will see its first action of the season against the Monarchs on Friday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. Marist will play again on Aug. 30 at 4:30 p.m. against University of Virginia. The Red Foxes will close out the weekend on Saturday, Aug. 31 against University of Texas, San Antonio at 10 A.M.
 

2024 SEASON PREVIEW

• Marist was selected sixth in the MAAC's Preseason Coaches' Poll
• The Red Foxes have 11 players returning from the 2023 season and eight newcomers (Six Freshmen & Two Transfers)
• Marist will spend the entirety of its non-conference schedule on the road.
• They will begin MAAC play Sept. 28 at Niagara.
• Marist's home opener will be on Oct. 5 against Iona.

 

SCOUTING OLD DOMINION

• Old Dominion was selected fourth fourth in the Sun Belt's East Division.
• Rightside, Myah Conway, was named to the Sun Belts's Preseason All-Conference Team.
• Marist is 0-1 all-time against the Monarchs.
• The Red Foxes only ever game against Old Dominion took place on Sept. 2, 2022 where the Monarchs were 3-1 victors.

 

SCOUTING UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

• Virginia was selected 16th of 18th in the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll.
• This will be the first ever match up between the Red Foxes and the Cavaliers.

 

SCOUTING UTSA

• UTSA was selected seventh in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll
• This will be the first matchup between the Red Foxes and the Roadrunners.

 

UP NEXT

• The Red Foxes will next travel to East Lansing, MI to compete in the Kathy DeBoer Invitational, hosted by Michigan State.
• Marist will take on Western Kentucky and Loyola University Chicago on Friday, Sept. 6
• The Red Foxes will close out their trip against Michigan State on Saturday, Sept. 7.
