FAIRFIELD, CONNECTICUT - Marist men's soccer is set for a match against MAAC conference foe Fairfield. The Red Foxes look to keep their two-match win streak alive against the Stags. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 28. 
 

Last Time Out

• The Red Foxes won the last two matches of their three-match homestand against LIU  3-2. 
• In the match shots, the Red Foxes dominated LIU on the pitch, out-shooting the sharks 15-8.
  • With 15 total shots, the Red Foxes tallied 8 shots on goal. The Red Foxes out-shot the Sharks 4-8 in the match. 
• Gijs Verheul, Adam Rustami, and Evan Marques all contributed to the win against LIU, with each having one goal apiece.  

 

Astonishing Adam

• The sophomore has started three matches so far during the 2024 season. 
• Rustami has tallied three shots on goal through the seven matches.
• Rustami, a native from Woodbridge Ontario, has brought an exciting nature to the Red Foxes.
• Adam scored the second goal against LIU in a 3-2 match.
  • The goal marked Adam Rustami's first goal of the season. 
• In his previous match against LIU, Rustami played eight minutes of the match.  

  

Scouting Fairfield

• The Stags have one match against a nationally ranked opponent so far during the 2024 season.
  • In their most recent match, the Stags played to draw against #24 ranked University of Connecticut 0-0. 
• Fairfield's William Pierce and Devin Zachry were both awarded honors from the MAAC. Pierce was awarded Hercules Tires Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Zachry was awarded Rookie of the Week on Sept. 23. 
  • William Pierce completed all three goals that led to the Stags win against Columbia 3-1.
• The Stags enter the match 1-6-1 overall in the 2024 season. 

  

History Vs Fairfield

• This coming match will be the 25th matchup between the two programs. 
• Marist is 7-15-3 all-time against Fairfield.
• The last time these two faced off was on October 14, 2023. The Red Foxes came out with the win 3-2.
