WEST POINT, New York- The 2024-25 season has begun for the defending 2024 MAAC Champions, as the Red Foxes men's swim & dive team competed in a tri-meet. The Red Foxes competed against the Army Black Knights and the Fordham Rams in the first meet of the season.
Caden Hardy led the way for the Red Foxes with two top-three finishes in the meet. Hardy placed third in both the 50-yard backstroke and the 100-yard breaststroke.
"It was great to get some early racing in. Across the board, I was proud of how everyone competed, and we took things away that we will continue to improve on that will help us throughout the year."
- Caden Hardy placed on the podium in the 50-yard breaststroke for the Red Foxes. Hardy posted an impressive time of 25.92 in the race, which was the fastest Red Fox time in the race.
- Hardy also placed on the podium in the 100-yard breaststroke, giving him two podium finishes. Hardy finished in third with a time of 56.71.
- The duo of Kellen Fletcher and Kris Flores finished back-to-back in the 100-yard butterfly in the meet. Fletcher finished in the fifth spot of the race, with a time of 50.51. Flores finished right behind Fletcher in sixth with a time of 51.72.
- Newcomer to the Red Foxes, Mason DeLisio led the Red Foxes in the 50-yard freestyle. DeLisio posted a time of 21.02, which gave him fourth place out of 12 swimmers.
- Kellen Fletcher posted an impressive time of 22.48 in the 50-yard butterfly during the meet. Fletcher, with his time, finished fourth out of 12 swimmers in the race.
- James Conable swam in the 22nd event of the meet, the 200-yard IM. Conable swam to a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:53.77 against the Black Knights and Rams. The swim marked the highest finish in the race for the Red Foxes.
- The Red Foxes compete in their first MAAC meet against Canisius.
- The dual meet is slated for Oct. 11 at 11 a.m.
