Red Foxes Return to Tenney to Host Manhattan Saturday

Women's Soccer Aims to Bounce Back in MAAC Match

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Soccer will continue their 2024 conference slate on Saturday, as the Red Foxes play to host Manhattan inside Tenney Stadium. The game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Despite outshooting the Mount, women's soccer came up short in its win against Mount St. Mary 0-2. 
  • Junior captain goalkeeper Maddy Catalonotti tallied one save in the contest and senior forward Christina Layden had one shot on goal. 
  • Marist outshot Mount St. Mary 8-6. 
  • Mount St. Mary generated four corners compared to three for Marist.
MARVELOUS MADDY
  • Junior captain goalkeeper Maddy Catalanotti tallied seven saves en route to her third shutout of the season against Sacred Heart on Saturday, September 14.
  • The shutout was the seventh of her career.
  • Through the last three games, Catalanotti has made 12 saves and has allowed only five goals this season. 
  • She boasts a 0.77 GAA and a 0.833 save percentage.  
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
  • Senior Lauryn Schmidt delivered her first goal of the season when the Red Foxes won against St. Peters. 
  • Freshman defender Jane Brooks had one assist in the Red Foxes' win against Sacred Heart, her first assist of the season. 
  • Sophomores Olivia Lindsay and Junior Jillian Garcia had two goals in the win against Sacred Heart. Both were the first goals of their collegiate soccer career.
SCOUTING THE JASPERS
  • Manhattan enters the match 4-3-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in the conference. 
  • The Jaspers ended their last game against Sacred Heart in a tie, 1-1. 
  • Sammi Derrico and Maddie Feller currently lead the Jaspers in goals. 
  • Molly Brunk has started in the net for the Jaspers in all eight contests and holds a 0.88 GAA. 
  • On August 26, Maddy Brunk was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week.
HISTORY VS MANHATTAN
  • This coming match will be the 23rd contest between the two programs.
  • Marist is 16-4-3 all-time against Manhattan. 
  • The last time the two faced off was on October 1, 2023. Marist came out with the win 2-0.
NEXT TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 2, when Marist travels to Buffalo to play Canisius.
  • The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
