POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The trio of
Danielle Williamsen,
Lexie Tarul, and
Morgan Lee all reached double figures in scoring to guide Marist women's basketball past Saint Peter's, 50-30, inside McCann Arena Thursday afternoon in front of over 900 students from neighboring schools for Kid's Day.
The Red Foxes held the Peacocks to just 11 points in the second half and 30 in total, tying for the second fewest points the program has allowes in a game since the 2002-03 season.
With this win, the Red Foxes improved to 8-8 on the season and 3-3 in the MAAC, while Saint Peter's fell to 5-10 and 3-3 in the MAAC.

The Peacocks struck first, sinking a pair of free throws before
Danielle Williamsen hit a three-pointer to give the Red Foxes the lead. The Red Foxes then went on an 8-3 run, taking an 11-5 lead with contributions from
Lexie Tarul,
Jackie Piddock, and
Ciara Croker. The Peacocks attempted to close the gap with a 6-2 run in the later stages of the quarter, but the Red Foxes finished strong, leading 16-11 at the end of the frame.

The Peacocks called a timeout early in the second quarter after the Red Foxes scored five unanswered points to extend their lead to 10. Both teams went scoreless for the next two minutes before trading baskets. The Red Foxes ended the half with a 25-19 lead.

Danielle Williamsen opened the scoring in the third quarter with a deep two-pointer to put the Red Foxes up 27-19.
About halfway through the frame, the Peacocks made their first basket of the third, cutting the score to 32-22. Each team scored four more points before the end of the quarter, leaving the score at 36-26.

Saint Peter's opened the scoring in the final frame with a two-pointer, but Marist responded with 12 consecutive points to extend its lead to 22. The Peacocks scored only one more basket before the end of the game, leaving the final score at 50-30 in favor of the Red Foxes.
