POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist Athletics have announced the hiring of Marist graduate Anthony Carnevale as its Sports Psychologist.

Carnevale's specialty area of practice is sport psychology and will be the counseling center's first staff member with a focus on working with the student-athletes at Marist. He received his master's in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College along with completing his doctorate at Springfield College in Counseling Psychology.

He has experience working with student athletes as a doctoral intern at a university counseling center. In addition to, working at a private practice conducting neuropsychology assessments and working in a hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient mental health services.

Carnevale's responsibilities will include mental health care for athletes as well as provide sports performance group sessions with all Marist athletic teams.
