NEWARK, NJ. – The Marist men's and women's cross-country team travel to Newark, NJ for the fourth meet of the 2025 season, the Metropolitan Championships, in Newark, New Jersey.

The Marist women's cross-country team competed at the Metropolitan Championships last on Oct. 12th, 2024.

All top four runners for the Red Foxes finished in the top-25 of all runners at the Championships, an impressive finish for Marist.

The women's team improved two spots higher than last year's finish at the Championships, finishing fourth this year. The Red Foxes finishes with 104 points during the Metropolitan Championships, finishing behind Seton Hall, Manhattan, and St. John's.
- The Red Foxes senior runners finished with strong times in the meet. Kate Murtagh finished in the top-25, finishing 23rd with a time of 19:25.13.
- Mary Dougherty also finished with an impressive time of 19:51.33, which was good for a 33rd place finish.

The Red Foxes third-place finish marks the second year in a row of finishing third place at the Metropolitan Championships.

The top five Red Foxes finishers finished with a 21 second spread between the one to five spots.

Seven of the top eight finishers were Red Foxes freshmen, who all finished with a sub 27-minute mark and a 31 second spread from the one to eight finishers.
- The Red Foxes will compete next on Oct. 17th, at the IC4A/ECAC Championships. This meet will be held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
