POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's basketball team was defeated by Drexel, 71-61, in Friday's home opener at McCann Arena.
Freshman forward
Justine Henry led the Red Foxes with a career-high 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, to go along with four rebounds, two assists and one block.

- Drexel jumped out to an 11-6 lead at the first media timeout with 2:54 remaining in the quarter.Â
- The Dragons drained a 3-pointer with three seconds left to take a 19-11 lead after one.
- Henry scored seven points in the opening frame for Marist.

- A 3-pointer from sophomore guard Danielle Williamsen brought the Red Foxes within four (22-18) at the 6:35 mark.
- Drexel responded with a 13-2 run to close the half, taking a 35-20 lead into the locker room.

- Junior forward Karly Fischer opened the second half with a layup, and Henry hit back-to-back 3 pointers to get the Red Foxes within 11 (39-28) with 7:43 to go in the third.
- The Dragons countered with a 6-0 run to go up 45-28, forcing a Marist timeout at the 5:19 mark.
- Drexel took a 47-31 lead but the Red Foxes responded with a 7-0 run, sparked by a 3-pointer from junior guard Malea Egan, to get within single digits.
- Marist trailed 52-38 through three as Drexel scored five unanswered points to close the quarter.

- The Dragons opened the final frame with a 7-2 run, taking a 59-40 lead at the 8:40 mark
- The Red Foxes utilized a 10-3 run, capped by a Williamsen steal and score, to get back within single digits (65-56) with 1:43 to go in the game.
- Drexel held on to win it, 71-61.

- Williamsen contributed 12 points, including two 3-pointers, and a team-high three assists.
- Senior guard Lexie Tarul added 12 points, four rebounds, and one steal.
- Fischer recorded eight points, a team-high six rebounds, one block, and one steal.
- Egan chipped in with seven points and two steals in 18 minutes off the bench.
