Balanced Effort Lifts Marist Men’s Swimming & Diving to Victory Over Raiders

HAMILTON, New York – The Marist men's swimming and diving team delivered a commanding performance on the road Saturday, defeating Colgate 176–120 behind a series of strong swims and relay victories. The Red Foxes won 12 of 16 events, showing depth and consistency across all strokes and distances.
 
Marist set the tone early with a win in the opening 400 medley relay, as Brady King, Dylan Magda, Dane Dillenback, and Joseph Cash combined for a time of 3:28.99. King followed that up with a win in the 100 backstroke (52.47) and later added a fourth-place effort in the 500 freestyle.
 
In the breaststroke events, Caden Hardy and Dylan Magda provided a dominant presence. Hardy won the 100 breaststroke in 58.25, while Magda took the top spot in the 200 breast (2:06.08) and placed fourth in the 200 freestyle. Hunter Emerson and Wells Ely also scored valuable points, finishing third and fifth respectively in the 200 breast.
 
Freshman Lorenzo Aquilino continued his impressive start to his collegiate career, winning both the 200 individual medley (1:57.96) and the 200 backstroke (1:54.78). Aquilino also placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:46.11), showing impressive range across events.
 
Marist's butterfly group also shined, with Lucas Silva winning both the 100 (52.75) and 200 (2:01.58) races. Ty Dropic followed close behind, finishing runner-up in both events, as the Red Foxes swept the top two spots in each.
 
Sprinters Jack Labianca and Oscar Bjering led the way in the 100 freestyle, placing first (48.00) and second (48.31), while Dane Dillenback took third (48.69) to complete a Marist sweep. Joseph Cash added a fifth-place finish in the 200 free and contributed to both winning relays.
 
On the diving boards, senior Ethan Gibbs led the way for Marist, earning third place on both the 1-meter (251.55) and 3-meter (253.28) events.
 
The Red Foxes capped the day with another relay victory, as Matthew McManus, Dillenback, Cash, and Joey Myer took first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:25.91.
 
With the win, Marist improved its dual-meet record and continued to showcase the team's depth and momentum as the season progresses.
