POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's basketball team continues conference play against Sacred Heart, as the Red Foxes host the Pioneers on Monday, Dec. 30. Tip-off from McCann Arena is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
 

LAST TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes fell 76- 67 to Quinnipiac on Dec. 21.
• Senior captain guard Lexie Tarul led three Red Foxes in double digits, pouring in 22 points on 9-for-13 shooting.
• Freshman forward Justine Henry added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Senior captain guard Jackie Piddock contributed 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
• After trailing by as many as 22 points early, Marist cut the deficit to single digits multiple times behind Tarul's 16-point fourth quarter but could not get closer than seven.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS

• Sacred Heart, 4-7 on the season, is led by Jessica Mannetti in her 13th year as head coach.
• The Pioneers haven gotten off to a 2-0 start in MAAC play, defeating Iona and Rider.
• Amelia Wood averages 14.0 points per game to lead the Pioneers.
• Sacred Heart was picked to finish 12th in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

HISTORY VS. SACRED HEART

• Monday's contest against Sacred Heart will mark Marist's second against the Pioneers.
• The Red Foxes defeated the Pioneers 68-61 on Feb. 27 last season.

CASH AT THE LINE

• Marist is shooting 79.3% (130-for-164) from the free throw line this season, which ranks second in the MAAC and 14th in NCAA Division I.
• The Red Foxes have three players shooting over 80.0% from the charity stripe (min. 10 attempts) in Jackie Piddock, Justine Henry, and Lexie Tarul.
• Piddock is shooting 88.9% (16-for-18) from the line.
• Henry is shooting 83.0% (44-for-53) from the line.
• Tarul is shooting 80.0% (28-for-35) from the line.
• The Red Foxes shot a perfect 100% (12-for-12) in the loss to Miami (OH) on Nov. 29 and 92.3% (12-for-13) in the win over Holy Cross on Nov. 16.
