GENEVA, Ohio- The Marist swim and dive team concluded a successful first day of the 2025 MAAC Championships.
Ethan Gibbs tallied the Red Foxes first medal of the Championships, earning bronze in the one-meter dive.
The Red Foxes 800-yard freestyle relay team also put on a dominant display, setting a new Marist University record.
The Red Foxes finished the first day of competition in third place with 58 points.
- "Started the meet just missing our school record from 2023. Our divers started their portion of the meet off great putting two in the B-final and Ethan (Gibbs) placing third. We concluded with our second school record of the evening, placing fourth in the 800-yard free relay." Head Coach, Anthony Randall

- For the first event of the evening, the Red Foxes relay team in the 200-yard medley relay placed sixth overall, two spots higher than last season. The team of Matthew McManus, Caden Hardy, Kellen Fletch, and Mason DeLisio swam to a time of 1:29.03.
- For the final swim of the evening, the Red Foxes 800-yard freestyle relay team set the new school record in the swim. The team consisting of Oscar Bjering, James Conable, Jack LaBianca, and Adam Zaremba placed fourth with a time of 6:33.28.
- The Red Foxes had two B-finalists and one A-Finalist on day one of the Championships.
- Ethan Gibbs led the way for the Red Foxes, earning a bronze medal with a score of 250.65. The impressive score earned Gibbs the Red Foxes first medal of the Championships.
- Quinn Smith followed in the B-final, placing ninth with a score of 150.75.
- Patrick Rankin rounded out the diving with a 10th place finish in the B-final with a score of 133.00.
