POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University men's basketball team defeated Canisius by a score of 89-81 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at McCann Arena on Friday night.

Josh Pascarelli led all scorers with a career-high 31 points.

- Canisius jumped out to an early 5-2 lead, but Marist countered with a 7-0 run that gave the Red Foxes the lead for good. The run included four free throws by Jaden Daughtry, and a three from Pascarelli.
- After Canisius cut its deficit to 15-14, Marist answered with another 7-0 run.
- Elijah Lewis scored nine consecutive Marist points late in the first half.
- Marist scored the last four points of the half, and took a 48-38 lead to the locker room.

- Marist extended its lead to 13 on four occasions in the first 7:09.
- A three by Daughtry with 7:35 left put Marist up 12, but Canisius countered with a 14-4 run to get within two at the 2:56 mark.
- On Marist's next possession, Pascarelli's jumper put the Red Foxes up four. They led by at least two possessions the rest of the way as the Golden Griffins were held to one field goal for the remainder of the game.

- Pascarelli led five Marist scorers in double figures: Lewis (15), Daughtry (11), Jadin Collins-Roberts (10), Jason Schofield (10).
- Schofield snagged a game-high 10 rebounds.
- Collins-Roberts had a team-high five assists, tied Daughtry for the team lead with three steals, and also had seven rebounds.
- Marist shot .564 (31-for-55) from the field, .471 (8-for-17) from three, and .760 (19-for-25) from the line.
- Paul McMillan IV led Canisius with 26.

- Pascarelli's 31-point game was the most by a Red Fox since Patrick Gardner had 31 at Niagara on Jan. 15, 2023.
- Pascarelli topped 20 points for the sixth time this season, and 10th time in his career. It was his first career 30-point game.
- Schofield's double-double was the first of his career, and his 10 rebounds were a career high.
- Marist's 48 points in the first half were a season best.
- The win was Marist's 19th of the season, the Red Foxes' most since the 2006-07 season when they won a program-record 25 games.

- Marist is 19-5 on the season and 12-3 in conference play.
