POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Marist women's tennis team will look to stay hot when it takes on Monmouth University on Saturday, March 30.
The match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Sportsplex in New Windsor, New York.
The Red Foxes enter with a 4-1 record over their last five matches and will aim to improve to 9-5 overall with a win.
- Marist won a tight battle against Sacred Heart on Sunday, March 23, winning one doubles match and taking four singles wins.
- Ella Lindsey and Lola Ungerman took care of business at #2 doubles, earning a 6-3 victory.
- In singles play, Caterina Assi, Cloe Clements, Lola Ungerman, and Ella Lindsey all picked up wins to seal the match.
- Lindsey and Ungerman were standout performers, each winning their doubles and singles matches.
- Freshman Ella Lindsey is the reigning MAAC Co-Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
- On March 22, against Quinnipiac, Lindsey, at #6 singles, battled her opponent throughout three sets, eventually winning 6-0, 3-6, 10-6.
- In the Red Foxes' 4-3 win over Sacred Heart on March 23, Lindsey and Lola Ungerman defeated their opponents at the #2 doubles position, 6-3.
- With the match tied 3-3, Lindsey clinched the victory for the Red Foxes after defeating her opponent at #6 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
- This will be the fifth meeting between Marist and Monmouth, with the series tied at 2-2. Marist lost last year's matchup 4-1, earning one win each in singles and doubles.
- The Hawks come into this match with a 4-9 record, most recently falling 6-1 to Towson.
- Freshman Faith Sandgrove leads the team with six singles victories this season.
