POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Marist women's basketball aims to head into the MAAC Championships with some momentum, as it plays host to MAAC foe Mount St. Mary's. Tip-off is set for 2 pm on ESPN+ inside McCann Arena.
- Danielle Williamsen scored a team-high 15 points, but it wasn't enough, as Marist women's basketball came up short on the road at Merrimack, 55-47, Thursday evening inside Hammel Court.
- Julia Corsentino added 11 points and three rebounds off the bench.
- Morgan Lee tallied 12 points and three blocks in the loss.
- Head Coach Erin Doughty is in her second season at the helm of the Red Foxes in 2024-25.
- Doughty has led the Red Foxes to 16 wins on the season, more than doubling last season's total.
- She's led the Red Foxes to 11 MAAC wins, five more wins than Marist had in total last season.
- Doughty has led the Red Foxes to a MAAC Championship tournament berth in Atlantic City in March and a bye into the Quarterfinals, despite being picked to finish 11th in the conference preseason poll.
- Doughty earned her first victory as a Div. I head coach in Marist's 76-68 victory over Army in the 2023-24 season-opener on Nov. 9, inside of McCann Arena
- Doughty earned her first conference victory as a Div. I head coach in Marist's 65-55 victory over Rider on Jan. 12, 2024, inside of McCann Arena.
- She was named to the Hudson Valley Forty Under 40 List on Feb. 21, 2024.
- This season is her 23rd year of association with the Marist women's basketball program, which previously includes time as a student-athlete, student assistant coach, assistant coach, associate head coach, and now head coach.
- Mount St. Mary's is led by Antoine White who has totaled 53 wins in four seasons as the head coach of the program.
- The Mount are 13-15 on the season and 11-8 in the MAAC entering Saturday's contest against the Red Foxes.
- Mount St. Mary's has lost each of its last three games entering Saturday.
- The Mount came up short at home against Quinnipiac, 64-60, this past Thursday.
- Mount St. Mary's averages 64.5 points per game, while shooting 39.2% from the floor and 35.2% from deep.
- Jo Raflo leads the Mount in scoring (15.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.9 rpg).
- Saturday's contest against Mount St. Mary's will be the 24th ever matchup with the Mountaineers.
- Mount St. Mary's is 17-6 all-time against Marist.
- The last time the two sides faced off, Marist came away with a 61-50 overtime victory over Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg on Dec. 19, 2024.
