Lee Earns All-Met Honorable Mention Status

NEW YORK, New York – Marist Women's Basketball junior Morgan Lee was selected to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association's (MBWA) All-Met Honorable Mention, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Lee led the Red Foxes in scoring (12.6 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg), and blocks (2.4 bpg) while starting in 30 of 31 games for Marist, en route to earning All-MAAC Second Team honors.

On the season, she notched six double-doubles, and her 73 blocks led the MAAC and ranked 13th in the nation.

Being named All-Met is a unique honor in that there are 21 colleges and universities and more than 300 women's players under the MBWA Division I umbrella.

The 2024-25 All-Met teams will be honored at the 92nd MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 24, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Haggerty dinner, which also will be Livestreamed, is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.

About the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association
The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association is the home of the All-Met Player of the Year selection since 1936, given to the top tri-state metro area men's basketball player. The All-Met Player of the Year award is named in memory of Lt. Frank J. Haggerty, a former co-captain who played forward for St. John's in 1939-40 and was the first student from the school who was killed in World War II. In more recent years, the awards platform has been expanded to include all three NCAA divisions for men and women. Currently, the MBWA's reach encompasses 72 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III. The Haggerty Awards and the All-Met Haggerty Awards Dinner, held every April in conjunction with the NIT, is a premier collegiate basketball event in the Metropolitan area.
