POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University volleyball team earned a pair of academic awards from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Monday.
 
The Red Foxes earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for having a team GPA over 3.3, and they were named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll by virtue of their team GPA ranking in the top 20 percent of Division I.
 
In the 2024-25 school year, volleyball had the highest team GPA in the Marist Athletics Department in both semesters (3.744 in the fall, 3.833 in the spring), and finished the school year with the highest cumulative GPA in the department (3.784).
 
The Red Foxes had 10 selections to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team: Claudia Kasperski, Mikayla Keefer, Claire Lewis, Kaitlyn Owens, Cecelia Potter-Pessoa, Vallane Sneva, Lillian Thomas, Katherine Thompson, Alyssa White, and Trinity Woods. Marist had four College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections in Sara Dasic, Kaitlyn Owens, Alyssa White, and Jamison White.
 
The Marist volleyball team is heading into its seventh season under the leadership of head coach Sean Byron in 2025.
