Buffalo, New York – The Marist women's volleyball team dropped their match against the host Buffalo Bulls with a final score of 3-1 at Alumni Arena. The Red Foxes started strong, winning the first set, but the Bulls rallied to take the next three to secure the victory.
The Red Foxes took the first set 25-22, showcasing a balanced offensive effort. However, Buffalo found their rhythm, taking the second set 25-22 before pulling away in the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-20, respectively.
Marist's offense was led by Sara Dasic and Mallory Reck, who recorded a team-high 10 kills and 8 kills, respectively. Setter Caelyn Dumas had a standout performance, dishing out a team-high 30 assists. On the defensive end, Dasic also led the team with eight digs, while Cecilia Potter-Pessoa added seven.
As a team, Marist finished with 36 kills and 23 errors on 105 attempts, for a hitting percentage of .124. Buffalo recorded 55 kills and a .394 hitting percentage. Sara Dasic was named to the Buffalo Invite All-Tournament Team.

The Red Foxes will head to Murfreeboro, TN for matches against host school Middle Tennessee (Sept. 5), UT Martin (Sept. 6), and Mississipi State (Sept. 7).
