STORRS, Connecticut- Marist volleyball is ready for a two-game weekend set in Storrs, CT, against UConn and Brown in the UConn Classic. The matches are set for Saturday, Sep. 20 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sep. 20 at noon.

- The Red Foxes were swept in all three matches against St. John's, Delaware State, and West Virginia this past Friday and Saturday in Queens
- Freshman Caelyn Dumas led the team in assists in each game, registering 19, 24, and 20 assistsÂ
- Junior Sara Dasic had 13 kills against Delaware State
- Freshman Haylee Wenner recorded 13 digs against St. John's
- The Huskies currently sit 8-1 on the season
- UConn went 2-1 this past weekend against Yale, Fairfield, and Northeastern
- Yale was their first loss of the season, losing in five sets
- Graduate student Doga Kutlu leads the team with 321 assists, and Senior ??Emma Werkmeister leads the team with 130 kills
- On the defensive side, Sophomore McKenna Brand leads the team 130 digs
- Brand was named the 2024 BIG EAST Co-Freshmen of the Year
- This will be the second time Marist and UConn face off in program history, and the first time since 1988Â
- UConn won the first matchup in three sets on Sep. 30, 1988
- The Bears currently sit at 3-3 overall on the seasonÂ
- Brown went 2-1 this past weekend in the UCF Tournament against Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State, and UCF
- Sophomore Julia Kakkis leads the team with 191 assists, and senior Mariia Sidorova leads the team with 67 kills
- On the defensive side, senior Jessie Golden leads the team with 94 digs
- Golden was named the 2024 Ivy League Defensive Player of the YearÂ
- This will be the third matchup between the two programs, with the first two taking place in 1998 and 2004
- Marist and Brown are tied 1-1 all-time
- The Red Foxes won the previous matchup in four sets on Sep. 18, 2004 in Poughkeepsie
- The Red Foxes start MAAC play with home matches against Rider and Saint Peter's on Friday, Sep. 26 and Saturday, Sep. 27 at McCann Arena
- The matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 4 p.m.
