Swim & Dive Opens Season at Army Thursday Night Throwdown

Red Foxes Have Several Strong Performances

West Point, New York – The Marist men's and women's swimming and diving teams began their 2025–26 season on Thursday night at the Army Thursday Night Throwdown, competing against host Army, UConn, and Central Connecticut State at Crandall Pool. The Red Foxes turned in several strong early-season performances across both squads in the unique relay-heavy format.

On the women's side, Marist's top finish came in the 50-yard breaststroke, where April Avila placed second overall in 29.47. She was followed closely by teammate Rae Dodson, who earned fourth in 30.16. Avila and Dodson later combined with Sabrina Conrad and Milena Judge to lead the Red Foxes to a fourth-place showing in the 400-yard medley relay (4:04.92).

Freshman Anna Hoskovec and sophomore Emily Krucoff highlighted the distance events, teaming up for a sixth-place finish in the 2x400 freestyle relay (8:27.43). In sprint freestyle, Rian Dickman led Marist with a ninth-place finish in the 50 free (24.62).

On the men's side, Matthew McManus impressed with a third-place finish in the 50 backstroke (23.76) and followed that with another strong swim in the 50 free (21.47), where he finished third overall. Caden Hardy led Marist in the breaststroke events, placing third in the 50 breast (26.10) and fifth in the 150 breast (1:31.38).

Marist showed depth in the butterfly races, with Kris Flores (1:22.32) and Ty Dropic (1:22.80) finishing third and fourth, respectively, in the 150 fly. Flores added a top-eight result in the 50 fly, clocking 23.68.

In the relay portion of the meet, Marist's men turned in a fourth-place finish in the 2x400 freestyle relay as Lorenzo Aquilino and Tyler Roer combined for a time of 7:36.57. The Red Foxes also earned three scoring positions in the 3x100 medley relay and placed third in the 5x100 freestyle relay (3:57.17).

The Red Foxes continue their fall slate on Saturday, October 11th, when they host their home opener against Canisius at McCann Natatorium.
