POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist volleyball team put together a strong all-around performance on Saturday afternoon, earning a 3–0 sweep (28-26, 25-18, 25-22) over Saint Peter's at McCann Arena. With the victory, the Red Foxes improved to 1-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
Marist's offense found its rhythm after a tight opening set, hitting .444 in the second frame and .478 in the third to close out the match. The Red Foxes tallied 57 kills on a .301 hitting percentage as a team, compared to Saint Peter's 47 kills on .185 hitting.

Sarah Bumstead paced the attack with nine kills on a .667 hitting percentage, while also adding two blocks.

Sara Dasic recorded a team-high 13 kills, along with three block assists.

Mallory Reck chipped in 10 kills and three total blocks.

Cecilia Potter-Pessoa anchored the defense with 13 digs and added a service ace.

Caelyn Dumas distributed the offense with 37 assists and added 12 digs for a double-double.
The opening set featured 15 tie scores and went into extra points before Marist held on, 28-26. The Red Foxes then took control in the second, using a 68 percent sideout rate to win 25-18. In the third, Marist built an early cushion and closed strong to secure the sweep.
As a team, Marist held a 6.5–5.0 advantage in blocks and out-dug Saint Peter's 87–78.

Tuesday, September 30th, when the Red Foxes continue their homestand against Siena in another MAAC matchup.
