Marist Faces Fairfield Wednesday Morning at McCann Arena

Red Foxes Host Stags at 11 a.m. for Kid's Day

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's basketball team (6-10 overall, 3-3 MAAC) continues conference play against Fairfield, as the Red Foxes host the Stags on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Tip-off from McCann Arena is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Sophomore guard Danielle Williamsen recorded the first double-double of her career and senior captain guard Lexie Tarul scored a game-high 22 points as the Red Foxes earned a 62-49 win over Rider on Saturday afternoon at McCann Arena.
  • Williamsen finished with a season-high 20 points while adding career highs of 10 rebounds and seven assists, scoring 14 of her points in the second half to help close it out.
  • Tarul provided the early spark, pouring in 17 first-half points, while senior captain guard Jackie Piddock scored all 11 of her points after halftime.
SCOUTING THE STAGS
  • Fairfield, 12-3 on the season, is led by Carly Thibault-DuDonis in her fourth year as head coach.
  • The Stags have gotten off to a 6-0 start in MAAC play and are riding an eight-game win streak.
  • Kaety L'Amoreaux and Meghan Anderson lead the offense, averaging 19.1 and 18.3 points per game, respectively.
  • Fairfield is the top three-point shooting team in the NCAA, holding the nation's top spot in three-pointers per game (12.8), 2nd in three point percentage (40.1), and 3rd in three point attempts per game (31.9)
  • Fairfield was unanimously picked to finish first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
HISTORY VS. FAIRFIELD
  • Wednesday's contest against Fairfield will mark Marist's 68th against the Stags.
  • The Red Foxes are 38-29 in the all-time series.
