POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist volleyball finished a strong weekend Saturday afternoon, defeating the Manhattan University Jaspers in four sets (18-25, 30-28, 25-23, 25-10). The Red Foxes are now 9-9 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
The Red Foxes started strong in set one but ultimately fell to Manhattan, 25-18. The second set was back and forth until the very end, with Marist taking it, 30-28.
Trinity Woods led the offense with six kills in the set, while
Caelyn Dumas had 15 assists and Cecilia Potter-Pessoa added six digs.
Marist carried its momentum into set three, taking it, 25-23.
Mallory Reck and
Sarah Bumstead both had three kills in the frame. Dumas contributed nine assists and five digs, while Potter-Pessoa added another five digs.
The Red Foxes caught fire in set four, winning 25-10 and taking the match from Manhattan in four sets. Bumstead racked up another four kills in the set, while Dumas added nine assists and four digs.
