Football Hosts Columbia Friday Night

Red Foxes Face Ivy League Foe at Tenney Stadium for 7 p.m. Kickoff

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University football team seeks its third straight win on Friday night, when the Red Foxes (3-2 overall) host Ivy League foe Columbia (2-1) at Tenney Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Block That Kick
  • Entering this week, Marist is in sole possession of first place in all of Division I in total blocked kicks (six) and blocked punts (four).
  • Marist has blocked a kick in every game this season. Dylan Gilmore blocked a punt at New Haven that was recovered for a touchdown by Zach Garmont. Braylen Ricks blocked a PAT vs. Franklin Pierce. Jayden Taylor blocked a punt at Lafayette. Against Presbyterian, Jared Bernabei blocked a punt that was returned by Jayden Taylor for a touchdown, and Niles Riding blocked a punt. Naheem Ridore blocked a field goal at Stetson.
  • In its last 19 games, dating back to the second-to-last game of the 2024 season, Marist has scored five special teams touchdowns (two blocked punts, one punt return, one muffed punt recovery, one kickoff return).

  • Marist ranks fifth in the FCS in Red Zone Defense (opponents have scored on 64.7% of trips inside the Marist 20). In the opposition's 17 trips inside the Marist 20, they have come away with just four touchdowns and seven field goals.
  • Marist is eighth in the FCS in rushing defense (101.4 yards allowed per game). The Red Foxes allowed minus-1 rushing yards at Stetson on Oct. 3. The last time Marist had held an opponent to negative rushing yards prior to that was was September 6, 2002, when Sacred Heart had minus-14.
  • Marist is ninth in the FCS in scoring defense, allowing 14.8 points per game.Marist has held four straight opponents under 20 points, and its last three under to 14 or less. The last time this occurred on both counts was in 2015, when the Red Foxes held four straight teams to 14 or less during a four-game winning streak.
