Marist Baseball Team Heads Back To Tennessee For A Weekend Series In Nashville

The Red Foxes Will Face Vanderbilt In A Three-Game Series

NASHVILLE, TN – The Marist baseball team is set for its second series of the season. They will head back to Tennessee to face off against the Vanderbilt Commodores who sit with 3-2 record to start the season. The Red Foxes come into this one with a 0-3 record.

 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes dropped all three games, last weekend, to ETSU in Johnson City, TN.
    • Game one: 5-6, loss
    • Game two: 5-7, loss
    • Game three: 2-7, loss
  • The Red Foxes totaled 12 runs in the series against the Buccaneers.
  • Noel Rivera tallied six hits, two RBIs, and a homerun in the series.
  • Connor Lawrence would also have a good weekend recording four hits, two RBIs, and a homerun.
 
SCOUTING VANDERBILT
  • The Commodores enter the series with a 3-2 record to start the year.
  • In their last series they swept Eastern Michigan in a two-game series.
    • Game one: 13-2, win
    • Game two: 16-2, win
  • They also defeated Texas Tech, 13-3, earlier in the season while losing to TCU, 5-4, and Oklahoma State, 11-1.
  • Player to watch: Brodie Johnston.
    • Johnston has started in all five games thus far, slashing a .500 avg.
    • Johnston has tallied five homeruns and three doubles on 10 hits.
    • Johnston has seven RBIs through the team's first five games.

  • The Red Foxes head to Holly Springs, North Carolina, to face off against Purdue in a four-game weekend series with a double header on Saturday.
