Marist Baseball Team Falls In Game One In Nashville

The Red Foxes Lose 16-5 In Eight Innings Against Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, TN – The Marist baseball team matched up against Vanderbilt University Friday afternoon. The Red Foxes hit three homeruns in the game but would fall to Vanderbilt 16-5 in eight innings due to the run-rule.

The Marist Red Foxes fall to 0-4 to start the season.
 
SUMMARY
  • The Red Foxes started the scoring in the top of the first with one run.
    • TJ Baer came across to score on an attempted steal of second.
  • Vanderbilt would quickly respond with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first, to make it 3-1 Commodores.
  • The Red Foxes didn't let the Commodore runs go unanswered, with another run in the top of the second to make it 3-2.
    • Kyle Pollack hit a solo homerun for his first of the year.
  • In the top of the third Marist would tie the game 3-3
    • Baer hit a solo homerun to tie the ballgame.
  • Vanderbilt took a 9-3 lead, scoring six runs highlighted by a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth.

  • Andrew Fierro would relieve Taylor and pitch 3.0 innings letting up nine hits and seven runs while striking out two.
  • Baer recorded one hit and an RBI with a solo homerun.
  • Noel Rivera had two hits and came across to score once.
  • Nathan Lincoln would record one hit in the game.
  • Lawrence recorded one hit and two RBIs on a two-run homerun.
