NASHVILLE, TN – The Marist baseball team played Vanderbilt in game two of a weekend series. The Red Foxes would fall behind early and eventually lose to Vanderbilt by a score of 12-1 in seven innings due to the run-rule.
 

SUMMARY

• In the bottom of the first inning, Vanderbilt pulled ahead, scoring four runs.
• The Commodores would tack on four more runs in the bottom of the second to go up 8-0.
• Vanderbilt kept the momentum going in the bottom of the third, scoring two more runs making the score 10-0
• The Red Foxes would get on the board in the top of the sixth inning.
  • AJ Brotz hit an RBI groundout.
• The Commodores would score two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and after stopping the Red Foxes in the top of the seventh they would force a run-rule making the final 12-1 in seven innings.

• Brotz recorded one RBI on a groundout.
• TJ Baer recorded one run and a walk in the game.
• Kyle Pollack, Luis Cedeno, and Luke Monico would all record one hit in the game.
• Drew McGowan led the team with two hits this afternoon.
