EDISON, N.J. - Freshman Yasmin Asnis of the Marist University women's tennis team has been named Jersey Mike's MAAC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference.

Asnis earned the honor after securing the Red Foxes' lone point in a match at Army West Point. Competing at No. 6 singles, she posted a straight-set victory over her opponent, 6-4, 6-4.

The award marks Marist women's tennis' first weekly honor of the season and the first weekly accolade of Asnis' collegiate career.

The Red Foxes are back in action at Brown on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m.
