Amelia Pirozzi scored a career-high four goals to lead the Marist women's lacrosse team to a 10-6 season-opening victory at Binghamton on Friday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Pirozzi paced the Red Foxes with four goals on eight shots on target, while junior captain attack

With the victory, Marist opens the season at 1-0, while Binghamton falls to 0-1.

- Marist jumped out in front midway through the frame as Gaven finished an unassisted effort at the 8:18 mark for the season's first goal.
- Shanahan followed with a free position score with 4:26 remaining to give the Red Foxes a 2-0 lead heading into the second.
- Leale struck just 13 seconds into the quarter off an assist from Manger to extend the Marist advantage to three.
- Binghamton answered with four straight goals in a three-minute stretch to take its first lead at 4-3.
- The Red Foxes quickly responded. Pirozzi tied the contest with an unassisted goal before Manger converted a woman-up opportunity off a feed from junior attack Kathryn Staker to put Marist back on top.
