POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's tennis team continues its season at Vassar on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 4 p.m.
The Red Foxes, who finished 11-9 overall and 4-4 in conference action a season ago, were selected fifth with 48 points in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

- The Red Foxes earned a 4-3 victory over Big East opponent Seton Hall, marking the program's first-ever win against the Pirates.
- Marist took the early edge by winning two of three doubles matches. Sophomore Viktoria Lorentzon and freshman Tessa Wachtel delivered a clutch performance at No. 1 doubles, edging Seton Hall in a tiebreak, 7-6 (5).
- At No. 3, junior Caterina Assi and freshman Yasmin Asnis secured a 6-2 win over the Pirates to clinch the doubles point.
- In singles, Assi continued the momentum with a straight-set victory at the top spot, defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-1. Lorentzon followed with a composed effort at No. 2, earning a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win over her opponent.Â
- Senior Cloe Clements Sorde sealed the match with a decisive 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3, securing the fourth point for the Red Foxes.Â
- Vassar finished last season 15-6Â and 7-1Â in conference play en route to a Liberty League championship..
- This will mark the first meeting in program history between Marist and Vassar.
- Marist women's tennis is back in action at Bryant on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4:30 p.m.
