Box Score WARWICK, R.I. - The Marist University women's tennis team earned a dominant 7-0 victory over Big East opponent Providence College on Sunday evening.

The victory marks the first time in program history that Marist has earned two wins over Big East opponents in the same season. The Red Foxes previously defeated Seton Hall, 4-3, in the season opener on Jan. 23.

Marist secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Sophomore Viktoria Lorentzon and freshman Tessa Wachtel posted a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Junior Vihana Shresta and junior Caterina Assi followed with a 6-1 victory at No. 2, while senior Cloe Clements Sorde and sophomore Lola Ungerman completed the sweep with a 6-1 win at No. 3.

The Red Foxes carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. Junior Caterina Assi earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1. Lorentzon recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2, and Clements Sorde secured a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 3. Ungerman added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4, Wachtel won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, and sophomore Ella Lindsey finished the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 6.
