EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Marist University women's lacrosse team fell to Mount St. Mary's, 18-1, in a MAAC contest on Wednesday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium.
Freshman midfielder Leigha Zaman scored the lone goal for the Red Foxes.
- Mount St. Mary's opened the scoring at the 9:10 mark and added goals at 3:50 and 2:59 to build a 3-0 lead.
- The Mount added another goal at 1:24 to take a 4-0 advantage after one.
- Mount St. Mary's extended its lead with goals at 12:19 and 10:02.
- The Mount added four more goals in the quarter to take a 10-0 lead into halftime.
- Mount St. Mary's continued its run with two free-position goals at 13:55 and 8:08.
- Goals at 7:16 and 1:44 pushed the lead to 14-0 entering the fourth.
- Zaman got Marist on the board at the 8:18 mark for her goal.
- Mount St. Mary's responded with a goal at 6:39 and added three more scores to close out the game.
- The Red Foxes return home to face Iona on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m.
