Justine Henry of the Marist University women's basketball team were honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Wednesday morning. Tarul was named Third Team All-MAAC, while Henry was a unanimous selection to the MAAC All-Rookie team.
Tarul averaged career-bests of 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game, along with 1.2 assists and 2.1 3-pointers per game on the season en route to earning Third Team All-MAAC honors. A known marksman, Tarul leads the team and is fifth in the MAAC with 62 made 3-pointers this season and has made multiple 3-pointer's in 17 games this season. She scored in double figures in 22 out of Marist's 30 games, leading the team in scoring seven times. She also recorded the first three double-doubles of her career and led the team in rebounding nine times.
Henry made an immediate impact in her rookie season, averaging team bests of 12.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while adding 0.9 assists en route to unanimous MAAC All-Rookie Team honors. She recorded a team-high six double-doubles and scored in double figures in 22 of Marist's 30 games, including 11 performances with 15 or more points. Henry also led the Red Foxes in rebounding 13 times and scoring seven times, highlighted by three 21-point performances, including one against #5 LSU.
The Red Foxes will be back in action on Thursday, March 5, when No. 9 Marist takes on No. 8 Manhattan in the first round of the MAAC Championships. Tip-off is set for noon from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on ESPN+.
