Marist Baseball's Home Opener Set For Friday Afternoon

The Red Foxes Will Take On Manhattan In A Three-Game Series

WAPPINGERS FALLS, New York – Marist Baseball gets set for its home opener Friday afternoon. The Red Foxes will take on Manhattan University at 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Financial Park, to begin a three-game weekend series.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• The Red Foxes faced Purdue in a four-game weekend series, going 0–4.
        o Game one: lost, 9–4.
        o Game two: lost, 11–10.
        o Game three: lost, 8–2.
        o Game four: lost, 18–1.
• Marist scored 17 runs on 36 hits over the weekend.
TJ Baer went 7-for-16 in the weekend series while scoring three runs.
Noel Rivera went 5-for-17 in the series with three RBIs and two home runs.
 
SCOUTING MANHATTAN
• Manhattan has started the season with an overall record of 5-5.
• Most recently they faced off against Maryland Eastern Shore in a weekend series, where they went 2-1.
        o Game one: 15-5, won.
        o Game two: 6-4, won.
        o Game three: 8-2, loss.
• Player to watch: Vincent Samuel.
o Samuel leads Manhattan slashing .432 average, .468 on base, and .773 slugging percentage
        o Samuael has 17 RBIs on nine hits while tallying three home runs so far this season.

• Marist returns to the diamond Wednesday, March 11, where they will travel to St. John's for a midweek matchup at 3:00 p.m.
