Marist Football Announces Two Hires

Pierce Graham, Ayden Gutierrez Join Head Coach Mike Willis’ Staff

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist University head football coach Mike Willis has announced the hiring of two assistant coaches to his staff.

Pierce Graham is the Red Foxes' new wide receivers coach, and Ayden Gutierrez will serve as tight ends coach.

Graham comes to Marist from Dickinson College, where he served as wide receivers coach and pass game assistant the past two seasons, and added special teams coordinator to his responsibilities in the 2025 season. He was assistant wide receivers coach at Campbell University from 2022-23. Graham earned his B.S. in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina in 2022. As an undergraduate, he was a football student manager and athletic tutor at South Carolina, and also served as an offensive intern at Campbell during the summer of 2021.

"I am very excited to add Pierce Graham to our staff," Willis said. "His experience as a coordinator, receivers coach, and recruiter will be invaluable to our program. Pierce has a proven track record of success. His acumen and insight will help our wide receivers reach their full potential. Marist got better today!"

Gutierrez arrives at Marist from the University of Akron, where he was an offensive graduate assistant under head coach Joe Moorhead. He worked with the team's wide receivers from 2024-25. He played collegiately at Grove City College as a quarterback from 2020-23. Gutierrez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Grove City College in December of 2023, and he received his Master's of Science in Sport Science/Coaching from the University of Akron in December of 2025.

"I am fired up to welcome Ayden Gutierrez and his fiancé, Rachel, to our staff. Ayden was mentored by Joe Moorhead, who is one of my role models in the coaching profession. Ayden is not just well trained – he has also quickly developed an acumen as a recruiter and coach that will uphold our All-American tradition at tight end. Marist got better today!"

Willis is heading into his third season as Marist's head coach in the 2026 season.
