Women's Lacrosse Falls to Siena at Tenney Stadium

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist University women's lacrosse team fell to Siena, 11-8, on Wednesday afternoon at Tenney Stadium.

Senior attack Jesse Manger and junior midfielder Madison Leale each scored three goals to lead the Red Foxes. Manger added two assists, while junior attack Kathryn Staker recorded four assists. Junior captain attack Anne Shine and senior captain midfielder Caitlin McNaboe each added one goal.

FIRST QUARTER
  • Siena opened the scoring at the 9:20 mark and added two more goals to take a 3-0 lead.
  • Manger got the Red Foxes on the board at 3:59 off an assist from Staker.
  • Leale followed with a woman-up goal at 3:08 on a feed from Manger to cut the deficit to 3-2 at the end of the first.
SECOND QUARTER
  • Leale tied the game at 3-3 with her second goal at 10:09 off an assist from Staker.
  • Siena responded with goals at 8:26 and 5:31 to take a 5-3 lead.
  • Leale completed her hat trick at 4:37, and Shine followed with a goal at 3:14 off an assist from Manger to even the score at 5-5.
  • McNaboe added a late goal to give the Red Foxes a 6-5 lead at halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
  • Siena opened the second half with a goal at 13:45 to take a 6-5 lead.
  • The Saints added a free-position goal at 9:41 and a woman-up goal at 6:45 to extend their advantage to 8-6.
  • Manger responded at 5:20 with her second goal of the game, assisted by Staker.
  • Siena added goals at 3:11 and 0:40 to take a 10-7 lead into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER
  • Siena extended its lead with a woman-up goal at 6:16.
  • Manger completed her hat trick at 4:35 off another assist from Staker to cut the deficit to 11-8, but the Red Foxes were unable to close the gap.
