POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Associate AD/Student-Athlete Health & Performance Jeffrey Carter has announced the hiring of Isabella Lourie to the Red Foxes' sports medicine staff.
 
She will serve as head football athletic trainer and will work with the Red Foxes' water polo program.
 
Bella most recently served as a seasonal intern for the NFL's Denver Broncos in 2025, a season in which the Broncos reached the AFC championship game. She facilitated daily responsibilities in the athletic training room, which included evaluations, treatment/injury prevention, and the implementation of rehabilitation programs.
 
She had previously served as a summer intern with the Broncos in 2024. In that time, she worked all preseason games and practices. She also collaborated with practice setup and breakdown as well as athletic training room preparation, and daily treatment and rehab.
 
While earning her graduate degree at Louisiana State University, Bella worked with multiple programs, including women's basketball (2024-25 season), gymnastics (2024), and football (2023). She also worked with the athletics department's physical therapist, and volunteered at summer camps for gymnastics, women's basketball, and football.
 
As an undergraduate at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Bella worked as a student intern. Upon graduation, she was hired onto the full-time staff, acting as an Athletic Training Departmental Assistant, working mostly with football.
 
Bella earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UMass-Amherst in 2022, and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from LSU in 2025.
