FAIRFIELD, Connecticut- The Marist Red Foxes were defeated by Fairfield 12-7 on Sunday.  Marist now holds an overall record of 21-28 and finished conference play with a record of 17-13.
 

SUMMARY

• Chris Diaz set the tone in the top of the first with a grand slam to give Marist an early 4-0 lead.
• Fairfield got on the board with one run in the second inning
• The Stags tied the game in the third inning, driving in three runs.
• The Red Foxes recaptured the lead by scoring two runs in the fourth inning.
  • TJ Baer scored the go-ahead run with a single into right field.
  • AJ Brotz extended the Red Foxes' lead with an RBI, making it a 6-4 ballgame.

• Fairfield tied the game up in the bottom of the frame with a 2-run home run.
• The Stags scored in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-6 lead.
• TJ Baer worked a walk with the bases loaded, allowing the tying run to score.
• The Fairfield offense responded immediately, scoring five runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 12-7 lead and eventually win the game.

• Chris Diaz had one home run and four RBIs.
• AJ Brotz and TJ Baer each had one RBI.
• Luke Monico, Brady Steinert, Drew McGowan, Nathan Lincoln, and Noel Rivera, all scored a run.
• Steven Mazza threw 3.2 innings, allowing only one run.
