Mathis Leads Red Fox Squad at MAAC Championships

EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Marist men's track & field team wrapped up competition at the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Morgan Track on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University.

The Red Foxes placed seventh overall in the team standings with 58 points and were powered by multiple event victories, podium finishes, and several school-record performances throughout the championship meet.

Amari Mathis delivered one of the top performances in meet history, winning the 100-meter dash in a meet-record and school-record time of 10.29. Mathis also placed second in the 200-meter dash with another school-record effort of 20.80, breaking the previous meet record of 20.97 set by Glenmour Leonard-Osbourne in 2022.

Logan Schaeffler captured a conference title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a school-record time of 8:59.64, becoming the second Red Fox to claim an individual MAAC championship during the weekend.

Ryan Trocolar added another program record in the 400-meter dash, placing sixth overall in 48.01, while Emmanuel Harris broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries with a time of 52.85 to qualify for the final.

Miracle Okoli earned a podium finish in the 400-meter hurdles, taking third overall in 1:02.68 after qualifying seventh in preliminaries.

In the distance events, Miles Chamberlain placed sixth in the 1,500-meter final in 3:52.92, while Justin Schwartz finished sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:51.92. Kevin Cannon also recorded a personal-best mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing fourth in 9:22.67.
