POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist University has captured the men's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Richard J. Ensor Esq. Commissioner's Cup on the men's side for the 2025-26 school year.
The Commissioner's Cup is awarded annually as a symbol of overall excellence in athletics. Each institution is scored in the 23 championship athletic events conducted within the MAAC. An institution's point total is derived from its finish in basketball plus its top six finishes in other sports for each gender.
This is the ninth time Marist has won the men's Commissioner's Cup, which is the most of any school in the conference. It is the 32
nd time Marist has captured a Commissioner's Cup, counting overall (12), men's (9), and women's (11) competitions, which is also the most in conference history.
Highlights of the 2025-26 season of the men's side included:
- Lacrosse won the MAAC championship, and won a share of the conference's regular-season title.
- Tennis won the MAAC regular-season championship and advanced to the conference championship final.
- Swimming & diving placed second at the MAAC Championship.
- Cross country placed third at the conference championship.
- Basketball finished tied for fourth in the regular season and reached the semifinal round of the MAAC Championship.
- The Cup was clinched with a pair of wins from baseball at the MAAC Championship.
