SACRAMENTO, California - Several members of the Marist Men's Rowing Team departed Wednesday for Sacramento, CA where they will be competing in the Varsity 4+ event at the 2026 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship Regatta. Racing will take place over two days beginning on Friday, May 29th with a morning time trial and evening semifinals, then concluding on Saturday, May 30th with finals. The Marist 4+ will face off against 28 other crews from around the country. Marist's first race will be in the time trial event starting at 11:30am PST on Friday. Marist has been seeded first in the random draw for the time trial and so will be starting bow #1.
This year's crew consists of Tessa Kurtzman (coxswain), Will Shockley (stroke), Nicholas Scarano (3), Ryan Tuttle (2), Charlie Latimer (bow). Also in attendance are spare oars, Reed Livingston and Kevin Murray.
Coach's Comments:
"We're excited for the 2026 IRA, our first back in CA since 2019". "Last year's crew placed 13th at the regatta in NJ, winning the third level final. With several members of that young crew returning, and the addition of two fast freshman, we're excited to see if we can move up the rankings."
