FAIRFIELD, Connecticut – Marist Baseball traveled to Fairfield University, where they played a doubleheader on Friday afternoon. The Red Foxes took the second game to go 1-1 on the day. They advance to 20-27 overall and 17-12 in conference play.
 

SUMMARY: GAME ONE

• In the bottom of the first inning, the Stags came around to score the games first run to go up 1-0.
• Fairfield scored again in the second to take a 2-0 lead.
• The Stags scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
• Fairfield closed it out in the ninth to win game one by a final score of 4-0

STATS: GAME ONE

• AJ Brotz tallied two hits in the game.
• Chris Diaz recorded one hit of his own.
• Andrew Speranza pitched 1.2 innings, not allowing any hits or runs while striking out four batters.

SUMMARY: GAME TWO

• Fairfield scored first with one run in the bottom of the second.
• The Red Foxes tied it up with one run in the top of the third.
  • Nathan Lincoln brought a run in with an RBI single.
• Marist scored another three runs in the top of the seventh inning to go up 4-1.
  • AJ Brotz laid down a bunt, bringing home another run.
  • Nathan Lincoln ripped an RBI double to drive in two runs.
• The Stags cut the lead scoring a pair of runs between the eighth and ninth innings.
• The Red Foxes held off Fairfield to win by a final score of 4-3.

Game Two

• Nathan Lincoln led the offense with two hits and three RBIs.
• AJ Brotz tallied two hits and one RBI.
• Noel Rivera had two hits of his own in the ballgame.
• Andrew Fierro went 6.1 innings only letting up three hits and one earned run while striking out eight batters.
