POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Nine Marist student-athletes recently traveled to Brazil for the completion of their Sport for Social Change course.

Sport for Social Change is a three-credit course that took place throughout the Spring 2026 semester. The final component of it was a trip to Brazil, with the class departing the United States on May 28 and returning on June 8. The overseas travel was handled in conjunction with Marist Study Abroad.

The trip consisted of multiple community service activities, including learning about food insecurity and sustainability and taking part in multiple non-profit events. The group also had the opportunity to do sightseeing, take part in hikes, and participate in multiple cultural activities.
