Marist Student-Athletes Turn in Stellar Semester

Red Foxes Turn in Athletics Department’s Highest Recorded GPA

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist University student-athletes once again had an outstanding semester in the classroom this past spring.

Overall

Marist Athletics' semester GPA of (3.495) is the highest overall GPA on record.
The department's cumulative GPA (3.475) is also the highest on record.

Top Teams

Volleyball (3.861) had the top semester GPA for the third time in the last four semesters.
The top three teams were volleyball, women's tennis (3.800), and women's cross country (3.748).
The top men's program was tennis (3.689).
Of Marist's 23 Division I sports, 13 had at least a 3.5.

Records

Four teams had their highest recorded semester GPA: women's tennis (3.800), women's cross country (3.748), women's soccer (3.677), and water polo (3.630).
Four teams had their second-highest semester GPA: volleyball (3.861), women's swimming and diving (3.694), men's soccer (3.473), and men's swimming & diving (3.418).
Three teams had their third-highest semester GPA: women's rowing (3.545), baseball (3.457), and men's lacrosse (3.414),

Student-Athletes

Of Marist's 598 student-athletes:

61 earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
60% (360) had at least a 3.5.
88% (528) had at least a 3.0.
