POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University men's soccer team opens its 2026 campaign against Stony Brook on Thursday, Aug. 20. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. under the lights at Tenney Stadium and on ESPN+.
 

2026 Season Preview

• The Red Foxes were picked tied for 5th of 13 teams in the Metro Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• Marist returns 16 players from last season's team.
• Sophomore Adriano Iannello and junior Gijs Verheul were selected to the 2026 Preseason All-Metro Team.
• Junior captain Chris Verheul was named to the 2026 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List.
• Marist is set to take on six non-conference opponents. The Red Foxes open the season with a three-game homestand before flying to the West Coast for two games in California.
• The non-conference slate wraps up on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at home against UAlbany.
• The Red Foxes open conference play against the Mount on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Tenney Stadium.

• Stony Brook was picked to finish second in the CAA North Division Preseason Poll.
• Forward Finlay Olivar earned preseason All-Conference honors.
• Thursday's contest will also be Stony Brook's season opener.

• This game will mark the ninth contest between the two programs.
• Marist holds a record of 3-5 against Stony Brook.
• The last time the two squads faced off, the Red Foxes came away with a 1-0 victory on Aug. 21, 2025 at Stony Brook.
