POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist football alumni returned to campus on Aug. 19 for Red Fox Reach Out.
 
Nearly two dozen former Red Foxes returned to provide insight into their careers, share memories, and form bonds with the current group of players.
 
"Our Marist football student-athletes are so fortunate to be mentored by alumni who care so deeply about their success, both on and off the field," Marist Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement Alyssa Gates said. "Having our former Foxes back on campus to reminisce and share updates on their lives is always so enjoyable. Watching them engage with our players and give them meaningful advice is invaluable."
 
The day started at Tenney Stadium, as the alumni watched a scrimmage and were greeted afterward by head coach Mike Willis. After having lunch in the dining hall, a two-hour networking session was held in the afternoon at the Marist Steel Plant. Players rotated to different tables for small group discussions with alumni.
 
"To have our alumni on campus working with our players is a testament to the power of a Marist University education, the commitment of our alumni, the growth of the Marist Touchdown Club, and the work of our outstanding Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement on an everyday basis," Willis said. "These opportunities will help us to create champions not just on the field, but importantly off the field. I am so grateful to our alumni for all of their work."

The Marist football team opens the 2026 season on Friday, Aug. 28 at New Haven. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. The first of the Red Foxes' six home games is set for Friday, Sept. 4 against Franklin Pierce at 7 p.m.
