Connor Hulstein Joins New York Jets’ 90-Man Roster

Tight End Enjoyed Record-Setting Season with Red Foxes in 2026

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York Connor Hulstein, who played tight end for the Marist University football team in the 2025 season, is part of the New York Jets' 90-man roster for training camp.

After participating in rookie mini-camp and then earning an invitation to mandatory mini-camp this spring with the Jets, it was reported this morning by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Hulstein reached an agreement with the team.

Last season, Hulstein had the most productive season by a tight end in program history. He caught 42 passes for 599 yards and seven touchdowns, all of which led the Red Foxes. His yardage total, touchdown total, and yards per reception (14.3) were the best by a tight end in program history. Hulstein led FCS tight ends in receiving yards, ranked second in touchdown receptions, and was fourth in total receptions. He was named an All-American by The Associated Press and Pro Football Network, and he was selected to participate in the Gridiron Showcase.

Prior to his arrival at Marist, Hulstein played at Princeton from 2021-24, where he was recruited by current Marist head coach Mike Willis.

"I am unbelievably proud of Connor Hulstein," Willis said. "Connor has embodied our standard of Mindset, Energy, and Toughness the entire time I've known him. It has been a privilege to be a part of his journey! Connor is a testament to all that Marist student-athletes can accomplish when they set their minds to it. Our coaches and his teammates also deserve credit for pushing him to be his best. This has been Connor's dream since I've known him, and we are also so proud of him for making it come true!"

Hulstein is the fifth Marist football player to sign a contract with an NFL team:

  • Michael Rios was the first Red Fox to sign when he joined the Arizona Cardinals shortly after the 2013 NFL Draft. He then signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2014.
  • Terrence Fede was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2014 NFL Draft. Fede played the 2014-17 seasons with Miami, and he then signed free-agent contracts with the Buffalo Bills (2018) and New York Giants (2019).
  • Jason Myers signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in March of 2015. He then kicked for the Jaguars from 2015-17. After playing the 2018 preseason with the Seattle Seahawks, Myers joined the New York Jets just prior to the 2018 regular season, and made his first Pro Bowl. He then signed with the Seahawks in 2019, and has been their kicker ever since, making another Pro Bowl and becoming the first Red Fox to win a Super Bowl in the 2025 season.
  • Clayborne Fields III signed with the Indianapolis Colts in the summer of 2014.

The Jets will have three preseason games, with two taking place MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey:

  • Friday, Aug. 14: Tampa Bay (MetLife Stadium), 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 21: at Pittsburgh, 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 28: New York Giants (MetLife Stadium), 7 p.m.

All three of the Jets' preseason games will be televised on WCBS.
