Henry and Williamsen Earn Preseason All-Metro Honors

Henry Named Unanimous First Team; Williamsen Earns Third Team Honors

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Metro Conference announced its 2026 Women's Basketball Preseason All-Metro Teams on Wednesday, with Marist women's basketball earning two selections. Sophomore Justine Henry was named to the Preseason All-Metro First Team as a unanimous selection, while junior Danielle Williamsen earned a spot on the Preseason All-Metro Third Team.

Henry enters her sophomore campaign following a standout rookie season that saw her earn unanimous All-Rookie Team honors. She averaged 12.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.5 steals across 29.1 minutes per game.

In her rookie campaign, Henry led the Red Foxes in scoring, rebounding, steals, field goals made and free throws made. She recorded a team-high six double-doubles and scored in double figures in 23 of 31 games, including 11 games with 15 or more points.

Henry led Marist in rebounding 14 times and scoring seven times, highlighted by three 21-point performances, including one against No. 5 LSU. She also ranked second on the team in field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and blocks. In the opening round of the MAAC Championship, Henry recorded 15 points and seven rebounds while shooting 6-for-10 from the field against Manhattan.

Williamsen returns for her junior campaign after averaging 9.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal across 32.4 minutes per game last season. She played in 22 games, starting 21, while scoring in double figures 11 times.

Williamsen recorded the first double-double of her career against Rider on Jan. 10, posting a season-high 20 points with career highs of 10 rebounds and seven assists. She finished the season ranked second on the team in assists, three-pointers made and minutes per game, while ranking third in three-point percentage, points per game and field goals made.

Williamsen missed the final nine games of the season due to injury.

The Red Foxes were selected to finish seventh in the 2026 Metro Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll, collecting 87 points. Fairfield was selected as the preseason favorite with 169 points and 13 first-place votes, followed by Siena (141), Sacred Heart (134), Iona (127), Mount St. Mary's (108) and Quinnipiac (103).
