HAMDEN, CT – The Marist women's soccer team fell short on the road at Quinnipiac, 2-1, giving them their first loss of Metro Conference play of the season. 

Sophomore Samantha Graf gave an impressive performance throughout the entire game, but was not able to keep the Bobcats off of the board. After making a remarkable save, sophomore Stella Tosoni answered the call and took the lead in the 33rd minute. 

Although Quinnipiac led the first half in corner kicks 6-1, junior Margaret Johnson capitalized on their kick to even the score in the 43rd minute. Going into halftime, the score remained tied.

Efforts from both teams were similar throughout the second half, up until the 82nd minute when graduate student Morgan Cupo scored to push the Bobcats ahead. She currently leads the team in goals and points on the season.

The Red Foxes were unable to retaliate, losing the match 2-1. 

After the contest, Marist's record falls to 2-6-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference, while Quinnipiac improves to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1-0 in conference.

The Red Foxes will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 23 as they take on Manhattan at Tenney Stadium.
